Our story began on January 13th 2020 next to the city of Tours, France, the very same day during the wedding of Bérengère and Sonam, both President and Vice President of the association of this charity project.
Since then, the family members, friends and sponsors have immensely joined the adventure and have committed to improve child education, environment and fair trade across the mountainous area of Ladakh.
The name of the association was given to honour our dear departed friend Thinley Norbu, popularly known as Sothi. He was full of joy and generosity but passed away prematurely. In his memory, our mission is to support the Ladakhi community, often deprived in this remote mountain area.
Develop education by supporting the children of Ladakh by means of study grants (registration fees, pedagogical expenditures, transportation and food);
Serve the environment by organizing awareness projects specially in schools with action based activities (educational gardens, solar greenhouses, ecological projects);
Encourage local handicraft by developing events based on ladakhi traditional skills (exhibitions, workshops, mediation and training);
Promote cultural exchanges between residents of Himalayan regions and France (meetings, conferences, lectures and various events).
